This activity for middle school students, from the Florida Advanced Technological Education Center for Manufacturing, challenges students to produce their own photo frame in the name of demonstrating the basic processes involved in manufacturing systems. Over the period of two classes, students will "learn and apply the basic processes in manufacturing," including "cutting, shaping, assembling, joining, finishing, quality control, and safety." This page includes a Company Fact Sheet (which provides details about the creator of the lesson, Walker Brothers Millworks), a Teacher Lesson Plan, a Teacher Grading Rubric, and a Student Worksheet.
