This 22-page report, developed by researchers at the Wisconsin Center for Education Research, "aims to illustrate the profile of students who aspired to enter manufacturing programs in public two-year colleges as well as those who actually enrolled in such programs" and attempts to distinguish "these students from their counterparts in other science, technology, engineering, and math fields in two-year colleges by exploring related demographic characteristics and educational factors." As the final report indicates that: 1. Male students were more likely than females to aspire to and enroll in manufacturing-related fields; 2. Having at least one advanced placement math credit in high school was associated with higher probabilities to enroll in manufacturing fields; 3. Students with more science classes in high school were more likely to enroll in manufacturing fields; and more.
