This website, from the program On the Cutting Edge - Strong Undergraduate Geoscience Teaching, focuses on metacognition and its role in geoscience education. Metacognition, broadly, is defined as "thinking about thinking," and can help students monitor and adjust their own learning strategies to become more effective learners. This site includes a section that links to resources for teaching metacognition, such as a breif introduction to the concept, strategies for teaching metacognition, a collection of teaching activities, and more. There is a section with materials relating to a Metacognition in Teaching Geoscience workshop that was held in 2008, and a section to share resources and join the metacognition in geoscience conversation with other educators.
