These slides are from the Catching the Nanotechnology Wave: Needs, Risks, and Opportunities webinar presented by the Nanotechnology Applications and Career Knowledge (NACK) center on November 1, 2013. Daniel J.C. Herr, Professor and Nanoscience Department Chair and Director at the Nanomanufacturing Innovation Consortium, delved into opportunities for today’s students, scientists, engineers, innovators and entrepreneurs to support each other and create high value products that address emerging societal needs. Herr also discussed the innovators that question some of our basic assumptions about designing and building value added products in the micro- and nano- domains and the importance of educators keeping current with rapidly evolving technologies that ensure that workforce entrants have the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed.
