Program Description:

This program, created by professionals at Milwaukee Area Technical College, prepares students to efficiently and effectively manage facilities. Emphasis is placed on cost-effective energy options, direct digital controls, energy management systems, sustainable operations management, maintenance management, commissioning, and project management. Each link leads to an instructor guide which includes sample learning outcomes, exit skills, course materials, assessments, and an overall description for each course.

Instructor Guide Description:

This Instructor Guide helps educators at the college-level design and plan an accelerated course which "provides an introduction to the essential roles of energy in nature and human activity." The guide contains possible tests, homework assignments, and activities to encourage class participation, which help students gain an understanding of "human's impact on the environment and restrictions on earth's ability to provide resources; limitations of different energy sources; and impact from humans on global warming and other pollution." Used in conjunction with other classroom-ready materials, the Instructor Guide can assist educators in developing a course that teaches students "energy basics, electricity basics, fossil fuel basics, nuclear energy, and renewable energy."
