NE 127 Codes, Standards, and Regulations

Toolkit Description:
This Codes, Standards, and Regulations course is from the RCNET Comprehensive Teaching Toolkit: Quality Assurance and Quality Control, and is drawn from courses taught at Chattanooga State Community College (CSCC). These courses are available as part of the Engineering and Information Technologies division at CSCC, and are part of concentrations in Non-Destructive Testing Technology, Nuclear Power Engineering Technology, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control Technology. Other Courses in the toolkit include NE 110 Introduction to Non-Destructive Testing and Quality Assurance/Quality Control and QA 212 Power Plant Construction and Quality Assurance/Quality Control. 

Toolkit Course Contents:
Codes, Standards, and Regulations introduces students to quality control practices commonly used by various industries to ensure public safety in accordance with appropriate codes, standards, and regulations.

Materials available as part of the Teaching Toolkit include a syllabus, course outline, eight PowerPoint presentations, one assignment, and three tests. 

The 2-page syllabus includes a brief course description, three educational objectives, eight course outcomes, four student outcomes, and a list of topics covered. 

The 1-page course outline is a general schedule that includes subjects covered and the homework assignment for each week. 

Eight PowerPoint presentations are included and each covers a different topic. Topics include the American Welding Society, ASTM Standards, and Power Industry Regulations; as well as related topics. 

Two tests, a final exam, and a study guide are included.
