NCSR: Aquatic Ecology Laboratory
This resource is provided by the Northwest Center for Sustainable Resources, and includes laboratory activities developed for a series of Environmental Science courses. Environment Science is a series of three courses developed by Chemeketa Community College that addresses environmental topics. Each is a
4-credit course that includes a lab and lecture. The courses are targeted towards students in natural resource areas (e.g. Forestry, Fish and Wildlife, Agriculture). This series of courses was added as a requirement for students in the Forest Resources Technology Program at Chemekta and are intended to introduce students to basic ecological concepts and environmental issues related to natural resource management.
The 79-page PDF is divided into ten main sections: Development of Chemeketa's Aquatic Ecology Laboratory, Cultural Eutrophication Lab, Constructed Wetlands for Wastewater Treatment-Lab I: Literature Review, Constructed Wetlands for Wastewater Treatment-Lab II: Design and Construction, Constructed Wetlands for Wastewater Treatment-Lab III Preparation for Treatment, Constructed Wetlands for Wastewater Treatment-Lab IV: Addition of Wastewater, Constructed Wetlands for Wastewater Treatment-Lab V: Analysis and Interpretation, Primary Production in Constructed Wetlands Lab, Ecosystem Analysis Lab, and Literature Cited and Additional Resources. Information on the Northwest Center for Sustainable Resources and the series of Environmental Science courses is also included.
