NCSR: Town Meeting - An Approach to Exploring Environmental Issues

This module uses a "town Meeting" teaching method and a case study to evaluate complex environmental issues. The case study used is the Klamath Basin, Oregon situation where endangered species management, dwindling water supplies, and drought have impacted the local agricultural community. "The town meeting format was selected for this activity because it represents a common mechanism for the airing of viewpoints on controversial issues at the local community level."

This 18-page guide outlines the activity and includes seven sections. Sections include: Town Meeting: an Approach to Exploring Environmental Issues - Module Description, Module Procedure, Klamath Basin Irrigation: A Town Meeting - Module Description, Assessment, Participants Sign-in Sheet, Notes to Instructors, and Resources.

The 16-page Word document is a duplicate of the PDF guide.
