Workforce Education Implementation Evaluation Tools

WEIE Framework Tools Description:
The Workforce Education Implementation Evaluation (WEIE) Framework tools were developed by SRI Education to address a knowledge gap between what employers want and what workers can do. These tools "can be used by researchers, evaluators, and practitioners to measure the key qualities of employer-college partnership implementation." Tools may be used for "understanding regional labor market needs, planning and monitoring the quality of employer-college collaborations, and improving the quality of the instructional programming to prepare students to have transferable workforce skills."

WEIE Framework Tools Contents:
Materials in Workforce Education Implementation Evaluation Tools cover enacted curriculum protocols, intended curriculum protocols, labor market context, and partnership quality. 

Enacted Curriculum Protocols include surveys and protocols that aid in evaluating instructional programs and activities used in workforce training programs.

Intended Curriculum Protocols include a 10-page instructor survey and a 22-page instructor interview. The survey is intended for instructors to describe their experience with a technician education course. The interview is aimed at describing instructional programs and classroom activities in workforce training programs. 

The WEIE Labor Market Context is a 6-page resource that describes the methods and resources of partnership case studies. Information is provided on key data sources for WEIE Case Study Analysis, which includes traditional labor market data, company data, job advert data, and resume data. 

Partnership Quality materials include three 4-page interview protocols. These interviews include questions on the following topics: Industry and Community College/ATE Relationship Formation, Operation/Implementation Factors, and Value of the Relationships.

For orientation purposes WEIE Instructor Survey Intended Curriculum.pdf is included as a separate attachment and offers a sample of the type of material included.
