These slides are provided by the National Academy of Sciences (U.S.) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and were presented at the April 1, 2016 Committee Meeting on the Supply Chain for Middle-Skill Jobs: Report Release on Online Education from MIT Researchers. This presentation covers the findings and recommendations from the Online Education: A Catalyst for Higher Education Reforms report. This report was created by the Online Education Policy Initiative (OEPI) at MIT that was formed to analyze the impacts of online education. 

These presentation slides include four recommendations and cover the following topics: Learning is a complex multi-layered process, outside-in and inside-out research approaches, convergence of outside-in and inside-out models has revolutionized fields, diverse theories and practices, a call to action, online as an enabler, and more. The report and other presentations given at the committee meeting are available to view separately.
