Mendon Ponds Park : Topography and Glacial Features Lab

This activity, provided by the GeoTech Consortium of Western New York: Get the GIST (Geospatial Information Science Technology) Certificate, is intended for students to learn about topography and glacial features. The activity includes an introduction, a drone view of Mendon, contour map images, objectives, maps of park and glacial features, vocabulary, and directions. Objectives include hiking an area to experience the distances represented by scale and elevation changes that are represented by contour lines, identify glacial features, and use GPS and GIS technology to map glacial features.
