Connected, Automated, and Intelligent Vehicles SEMATA-MATA 10-4-18

This presentation took place on October 4, 2018 at the Southeast Michigan Automotive Teachers Association - Michigan Automotive Teachers Association (SEMATA-MATA) Fall 2018 Conference. During this presentation, Kelly provides an overview of connected, automated, and intelligent vehicles. This presentation covers these four questions related to advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and the anticipated connected and automated vehicles of the near future:

• Why is there such interest in this topic?
• How does the technology work?
• What are the remaining challenges?
• How do these advances affect automotive technician education?

In addition, this presentation provides information about Macomb Community College's new 3-credit, 16-week course, AUTO 2000, called Connected, Automated, and Intelligent vehicles. This course, along with a new course on automotive testing, are part of the college's Vehicle Development Technician (VDT) Associate of Applied Science Degree.
