Core Competencies for General, Materials and Marine Technicians
This 13-page document is provided by the Southeast Maritime and Transportation (SMART) Center and includes competencies for materials and marine technicians. Competencies include 19 categories, 75 competency concentrations, and 386 performance indicators. The following are examples of competency concentrations that are included: demonstrate good communication skills, apply geometry and trigonometric functions, demonstrate effective work with teams, demonstrate cultural awareness in the workplace, demonstrate knowledge of chemistry fundamentals, apply basic concepts of mechanics, and describe and apply concepts of electricity and magnetism. Each competency concentration is followed by a number of performance indicators.
