Summer Working Connections Introduction to Mechatronics

Collection Description:

This collection contains materials related to the CollaborATE Summer Working Connections (SWC) Introduction to Mechatronics workshop. This week long workshop is a professional development opportunity for high school STEM faculty. The workshop "provide[s] hands-on activities in mechatronics concepts including basic electrical theory, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and pneumatics." In addition, the workshop is designed to help high school faculty brainstorm ways to incorporate mechatronics into their existing curriculum. 

Collection Content:

This collection contains three slide decks: two slide decks for two presentations that were given during the 2017 Summer Working Connections (SWC) Introduction to Mechatronics workshop and one slide deck for a presentation that was given at the 2018 workshop. Both of these presentations were given by Marilyn Barger, Executive Director for the Florida Advanced Technological Education Center for Excellence (FLATE). The collection also contains promotional materials for the workshop, including a short promotional video (which runs 07:40 minutes) and a flier for the 2019 workshop. Finally, the collection contains course objectives and topics for the 2017 workshop, the application for the SWC 2019 workshop, and an evaluation survey for the workshop.
