This slide deck accompanied a presentation entitled "How do your Credentials Stack Up?". This presentation addressed the stackable certificate initiative from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Career Technical and Adult Education. The presentation was given by Hope Cotner of the Center for Occupational Research and Development, Barbara Murray of Tidewater Community College and the Southeast Maritime and Transportation (SMART) Center, Debbie Davidson of Gateway Technical College, and Vinz Koller of Social Policy Research Associates. As explained in this presentation, the purpose of the stackable certificate initiative is to "build capacity of community colleges to improve credential attainment rates among youth and adults" and to "embed industry-recognized credentials within a technical degree program." This presentation outlines example stackable credential programs in areas of mechatronics, automotive careers, CNC machining, and maritime technologies.
