Maritime Careers Game

These two documents are related to the Maritime Careers Game, an activity designed to introduce middle school students to careers in the maritime and transportation industry. This activity was created by Amanda Snyder, a school counselor and 2015 SMART Maritime and Transportation Institute Alumni. The document "Discovering SMART Careers - Maritime Career Game - Snyder" provides an outline of the Maritime Careers Game and a series of game cards that students will use during the activity. During the Maritime Careers Game, students explore careers in four sectors: shipbuilding and ship repair, ports and port-based logistics, seagoing, and pleasure craft and marinas. The other document, "Discovering SMART Maritime Careers Game PPT Handouts", is a 12-page handout that includes presentation slides designed to accompany the Maritime Careers Game. These slides provide additional information about maritime and transportation careers and educational programs.
