ATE Centers for Cybersecurity Education
This 16-page paper, provided by Maricopa County Community College District, includes information about the National Science Foundation (NSF) Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program and NSF ATE Centers for Cyber Security Education. "The ATE program funds large, comprehensive Centers of Excellence, as well as smaller-scale, more focused projects." These centers usually involve collaborations among educational institutions and partners from business, industry, and government. These collaborations work to improve education and build the workforce in a particular area of technology. Of about 40 centers in 2016, five were centers for cyber security education. These centers were focused on developing cyberforensics curricula, professional development, courses, workshops, cybersecurity degrees and certificates, and more. This paper includes a description for each center and describes key activities.
