The Role of Advisors, Counselors, and Career Coaches

This webinar, provided by the Centers Collaborative for Technical Assistance, discusses the role of the academic advisor/ academic counselor; the career counselor/ career coach; and the employment specialist/ job placement specialist in supporting community college students in technical programs. This webinar took place on November 17. 2017, and the presenters were Elaine Johnson, Executive Director and PI of Bio-Link; John Carrese, Director of San Francisco Bay Center of Excellence for Labor Market Research; and James Lewis, Bridge Internship Coordinator at City College of San Francisco. This discussion was moderated by Michael Lesiecki, Principal of Luka Partners LLC. The webinar includes data from Collin College regarding the value of career coaches, and a discussion about incorporating career support into the classroom.
