This 109-page resource, provided by the Center for Occupational Research and Development, is the fifth module of the Employability Skills Resource Toolkit. This toolkit is part of the North Carolina Community College System's Code Green Super Curriculum Improvement Project (CIP). The CIP project committee discussed the importance of teaching employability skills and identified eight competencies as a priority for integration across the curriculum. Eight modules were created based on these competencies.

Module 5: Initiative and Dependability "explores characteristics that contribute to a good work ethic." The module "focuses specifically on time management, goal setting, taking responsibility for maintaining equipment and workspaces for safety, and learning how an organization is a system." An overview, presentation materials, seven activities, assessment tools, and videos and weblinks are included.

The Toolkit and the other individual modules are available to view separately.
