Illinois Essential Employability Skills Framework and Self-Assessment

The Illinois Essential Employment Skill Framework and Self-Assessment is a 20-page document "designed to define and clarify essential employability skills and provide a standard for the state of Illinois." The framework was created by Illinois Community College Board and the Illinois Dept. of Commerce and Economic Opportunity in collaboration with Illinois businesses, local chambers of commerce, and secondary and postsecondary educators, and other stakeholders. This document consists of three sections. The first section addresses the four employability skills included in tis framework: personal ethic, work ethic, teamwork, and communication. Section 2 is a self-assessment tool that is intended "as a resource to help programs assess their alignment with the Illinois Essential Employability Skills Framework." Section 3 is a self-assessment "designed to identify work that incorporates essential employability skills into classroom instruction".
