2018 Needed Math Conference Proceedings
This resource, made available by Hofstra University, is a report of the proceedings of the Needed Math Conference, a National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Education (ATE) Funded Conference, that took place in January 2018. The resource begins with a Letter of Transmittal authored by Dr. Michael Hacker, Principal Investigator of Needed Math, and Dr. Paul Horowitz, Co-Principal Investigator of Needed Math. The introduction includes a detailed overview of the Needed Math Conference which includes background information, context out of which the Needed Math conference emerged, barriers and issues within math skills of students in the United States, findings, recommendations, and references.
