This video, provided by Columbia Gorge Community College, is the first part of a two part lecture that gives a brief introduction and orientation to the programmable logic controller (PLC). The main objective of the lecture is to "describe the main parts, purpose, and function of a programmable logic controller and introduce general concepts common to most PLCs." "Differences and advantages of PLCs over traditional hardwired relay based ladder logic" are also discussed. This video runs 11:35 minutes in length.
