Open Loop Control (Part 1 of 2)
This video, provided by Columbia Gorge Community College, is the first part of a two part lecture that examines open loop control systems. The main objective of the lecture is to "introduce open loop control systems and examine the benefits and drawbacks of these types of systems." Benefits are discussed in terms of response, accuracy, and endurance. Drawbacks discussed include internally generated ones such as spool position hysteresis and "external ones like variations in applied load, friction, temperature, pressure, flow, leakage, and more." This video runs 15:17 minutes in length. The second part of the lecture is available to view separately.
