# Essential Mathematics for Engineering Technicians This collection, created by the National Center for Optics and Photonics Education (OP-TEC), includes a textbook and related videos that cover essential mathematics for engineering technicians. The book "is a student review and study guide to help aspiring engineering technicians begin studies with adequate math skills." This book is intended to be used as a whole in non-credit classes, used piecemeal in a self-learning mode for student review, or used as a reference for math-based engineering technology classes. The following topics are covered: scientific notation, unit conversion, introductory algebra, powers and roots, ratio and proportion, exponents and logarithms, graphing in rectangular coordinates, geometry, angular measures in two and three dimensions, trigonometry, special graphs, sinusoidal motion, and complex numbers. A section is included for each topic and sections include learning objectives, basic concepts, practice exercises, and more.
