The German Energy Transition: Observations from Abroad and a Look to the Future
These presentation slides, from the CREATE National Energy Center, discuss Energiewende, Germany's effort to transition to renewable energy. A group from CREATE traveled to Germany in 2017 to study renewable energy and energy storage developments there to gain knowledge for the development of new programs at community colleges in the United States. The presentation covers the three pillars of Energiewende in the following order: Renewable Energy Sources, Energy Efficiency, and Flexibility and Future Grid Network. Each pillar is covered in detail including background information, graphs, photographs, and more. These slides were presented at the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) Energy Fair on June 21, 2019.
