This video, from the STEM Guitar Project, was recorded at the first Acoustic Guitar Build Institute that was held at Hanford High School in 2019. During this part of the workshop, Gerry Kowalski demonstrates part of the guitar building process and discusses the importance of a shim and neck angle. Kowaski explains different sizes of shims, the advantage of using a shim, the process of adding the correct shim, attaching the neck, and checking the angle of the neck. The video runs 7:24 minutes in length. Additional videos from the workshop cover acoustic body and neck set up, checking the height and angle of the guitar strings, and stringing the guitar. These videos are available to view separately.
