This 13-page resource, made available by the STEM Guitar Project, is an activity on the use of tolerances in engineering drawings. During the activity students will "learn to identify tolerances on a drawing, calculate the acceptable dimension of a feature, and specify tolerances for dimensions using industry standards." The learning objectives for this activity are:
- Students will identify the various ways that tolerances are specified on a technical drawing.
- Students will calculate the minimum and maximum size of a part or location based on the specified tolerance.
- Students will specify dimensional tolerances based using available engineering information.
The resource is available in .pdf and .docx formats and consists of the following sections: Learning Objectives, Standards, Materials Required, Safety, References, Activity, and more. An assessment for the activity is also included.
