These resources, made available by the Center for Nanotechnology Education (Nano-Link), provide guidance for educational institutions interested in developing an undergraduate research (UGR) model. UGR is defined as "an effective tool for preparing undergraduate students for future careers," by providing research experience and teaching "21st century soft skills."

The resources include a 7-page paper and presentation slides. The paper is divided into the following sections: Why an Undergraduate Research Model, Objectives of an UGR Project, Pilot Project, Considerations When Setting Up an UGR Project, Expectations, Choosing a project, and more.

The presentation slides discuss UGR model activities, achievements, and issues for the UGR model goals. The goals are:

  1. Solidify the schedule and begin the UGR.
  2. Transition to an internship project.
  3. Connect with other undergraduate research organizations.
