Stueve presents on the practical applications of remote sensing for use in agriculture, specifically for fungicide application. He provides an overview of variable rate application (VRA) fungicide, and discusses the challenges that farmers face, including variable weather and climatic conditions conducive to fungi, and expensive fungicide that yield inconsistent results. Stueve explains the opportunity for utilizing remote imagery, which enables farmers to collect and track ecological data like temperatures and rainfall, and inform fungicide application decisions. This presentation also includes a discussion about workflow considerations, including equipment and tools, as well as a tour of the software ArcMap.
