Module 1 - Smart Manufacturing: Future Trends and Policies Worldwide

This video workshop, published by Motlow State Community College and led by Dr. Khalid Tantawi, is part of an eight-video series from the SMARTT Project. The video provides an introduction to smart manufacturing, which is a term used to describe the shift from computer automation to artificial intelligence. Tantawi introduces participants to emerging technologies, such as the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), compares robots of the past to those of the present, examines global trends in robot manufacturing, highlights policies and strategies in smart manufacturing, considers the Covid-19 pandemic's effect on manufacturing, and recognizes potential risks.
