This 22-page report, published by Alexandria University, describes the design and construction of Nautilus, an underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV). This report was created by the Aquaphoton Academy, a student group that participated in the 2021 MATE ROV competitions Explorer class. MATE ROV is a global underwater robotics competition for STEM students. The competition includes Explorer, Ranger, Navigator, and Scout classes.

In the report, an abstract introduces the project and group. The design rationale is then presented, which includes information on the design's evolution, the design and manufacturing process, the vehicle core systems, and mission specific auxiliary tools. Safety, testing and troubleshooting, and logistics are then considered. The report then offers challenges, lessons learned, and areas for improvement. Finally, reflections, acknowledgements, references, and appendices are provided.

Manuals for each class and technical documentation from other teams are available to view separately.
