This collection contains four documents developed by North Georgia Technical College for its Agribusiness Marketing course. This course focuses on various marketing functions, agencies, and institutions which assemble, process, and distribute agricultural commodities and products. Marketing strategies and plan development is a central theme for the course content.

The four documents include a syllabus, course calendar, curriculum guide, and lab manual. The 7-page syllabus includes information about the course, including required materials and texts, a course description, competency areas, behavioral objectives and learning outcomes, competency areas, and more.  

The 1-page calendar includes the title of each unit of instruction, instructional time, and evaluation time needed.

The 256-page curriculum guide includes a lesson plan for each lesson that are a part of the five units:

  • Unit 1 Lesson 1: Law of Supply and Demand
  • Unit 2 Lesson 1:  Marketing Agricultural Products 
  • Unit 2 Lesson 2: Marketing Functions
  • Unit 2 lesson 3: Marketing Strategies
  • Unit 3 Lesson 1: Marketing Strategies and Plans 
  • Unit 4 Lesson 1: Agriculture Product Market Research
  • Unit 5 Lesson 1: Agriculture Business and Interpersonal Relationships
  • Unit 5 Lesson 2: Salesmanship and Customer Service
  • Unit 5 Lesson 3: Ethical Practices in Agribusinesses

Each unit contains the following: Lessons (including objectives; essential questions; unit understandings, themes, and concepts; primary learning goals; assessment method/type; references; materials and equipment; PowerPoints; web resources; and appendices), teaching procedures (including lecture notes/activities), individual learning activities, group learning activities, presentation learning activities, and summaries. 

The 43-page lab manual includes 11 labs that cover the following topics: time management, marketing research evaluation, marketing, product innovation and marketing, planning, invention research, flywheel marketing, agribusiness marketing, Farm Bureau mobile classroom demonstration, agritourism business visit, and agriculture in our culture. A list of big marketing terms and definitions is included. 

For orientation purposes, the Agribusiness Marketing Syllabus DUE 2000444.pdf is included as a separate attachment and offers a sample of the type of material included in this collection.
