Course Description:

This course, developed by Bridgerland Technical College, teaches students about electronics assembly and soldering. Student learn how to solder and desolder connectors, components, and printed circuit boards using industry standards. Topics include component identification, safety practices, soldering, desoldering, anti-static grounding, and surface mount techniques. Upon completing the course, students should be able to:

  • identify components, 
  • follow safety practices,
  • solder,
  • desolder,
  • perform anti-static grounding,
  • apply surface-mount techniques.

Course Contents:

Course materials include a Canvas .imscc file. The .imscc file includes numerous folders and files from the Canvas course, including a syllabus. The syllabus includes a course description, course objectives, and instructor and grading information.

This course includes six modules. Most modules include an introduction video, labs, and help pages.
