Guides For Integrating Assessment and Evaluation Throughout Professional Development

This 13-page guide provides information on integrating summative and formative assessments into professional development. This resource is part of the Professional Development Formative Assessment System (PD-FAS). PD-FAS was created by the Formative Assessment for Advanced Technician Education 2 (FAS4ATE2) project.

The resource includes seven assessment strategies, information on the effects of formative assessment on learning outcomes and instructional decisions, information on the difference between summative and formative assessments, examples of summative and formative assessments, an example of a professional development instruction assessment, and five short descriptions of teaching practice adapted from formative assessment.
