This 3-page document provides information on quizzes for formative and summative purposes. This resource is part of the Professional Development Formative Assessment System (PD-FAS). PD-FAS was created by the Formative Assessment for Advanced Technician Education 2 (FAS4ATE2) project.

After reading and using this resource, users will be able to:

  • identify the difference in process between quizzes for summative and formative purposes,
  • decide which type of purpose is best for learners and their learning,
  • use this resource to design formative processes for quizzes in professional development.
