Building Better Beyond the Classroom

This video, from the 2021 Esri Education Summit, provides three presentations on the informal education of GIS. The first presentation describes a collaboration between students and the Center for Black Health and Equity. Information and data on health disparities among the black population, the use of a web app builder, vector basemaps, query filters, data representation, pop-ups, and a demo are highlighted. The second presentation explores the use of GIS to highlight COVID-19's disruptions to food access. The project, its goals, data collection methods, use of Esri apps, and more are explored. The final presentation covers a project that employs maps and GIS for soil science education and soil painting. Platforms, soil painting kits, and more are highlighted.
