Research on Building Student and Teacher Capacity
This video, from the 2021 Esri Education Summit, provides three presentations that explore research on building student and teacher capacity. In the first presentation, Bob Coulter highlights the GeoData Talks, which aim to build data literacy. Examples of data literacy are provided. In the second presentation, Lori Hare explores the Power of Data learning development model project and the impact of the project on teachers and students. Project data and outcomes are presented. In the final presentation, Stacey Stark explores the expanding role of the university in K-12 GIS education. Stark highlights the University of Minnesota K12 GIS Collaborative project, funding, staffing, research, outreach, and more.
