PBE Administrative Policies

This collection of documents from Texas State Technical College (TSTC) provides a sample of administrative policies used in implementing performance-based education (PBE).

These documents are composed of a cybersecurity departmental standard policy, statewide operating standards for faculty expectations and grading systems, an advising acknowledgment form, and a remote access hardship application. The cybersecurity department standard policy addresses requirements for the mastery of course competencies through assessments in PBE courses. The statewide operating standard for faculty expectations and workload addresses the assignment of fair and equitable instructional duties to full-time faculty commensurate with their teaching discipline and other responsibilities. The statewide operating standard for grading systems addresses how TSTC measures student achievement of skills, knowledge, and competencies and how to report student performance for each course attempted or credited with a standard system of grading. The advising acknowledgment form for PBE was used by enrollment coaches to confirm student's preferred program format and includes information on the benefits associated with PBE. The remote access hardship application was used by enrollment coaches to set up remote access for students without the required technical specs to complete labs.
