This collection from the Center for Renewable Energy Advanced Technological Education Resource Center (CREATE) is composed of teaching materials that highlight a lesson on commercial building energy systems. The collection is composed of a video and six documents.

In the video, the unique needs of commercial buildings; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); building automation systems (BAS); the use of fewer resources and environmental pollution; and the various technological components that ensure the operation of a commercial building are explored. The video recording runs 30:50 minutes in length.

The documents include a drawing of commercial building energy systems, an instructor's guide, a student assessment, the student lesson, as well as two documents that cover commercial building energy system standards. The instructor's guide highlights learning objectives, materials, lesson dynamics, and lesson delivery suggestions. The assessment provides questions and answers that cover commercial building energy systems. The student lesson provides an introduction to commercial building energy systems and a list of lesson materials. The standards documents explore energy literacy principles and concepts, as well as next generation high school science standards.

For orientation purposes the 'Commercial Building Energy Systems Student Lesson.pdf' PDF is included as a separate attachment and offers a sample of the type of the material included in this module.

Below is a list of the files contained within the .zip attachment. Files are listed with their file name and size in parenthesis.
