Solar PV: Module Performance Instructional Size

This collection from the Center for Renewable Energy Advanced Technological Education Resource Center (CREATE) is composed of teaching materials that highlight a lesson on the performance of solar PV modules. The collection is composed of five documents and a video.

The documents include an instructor's guide and answer key, a student lesson and response guide, a student orientation document, and standards documents. The instructor's guide and answer key provides learning goals, a list of materials, an introduction to the activity, and answers to the student assessment. The student lesson and response guide provides an introduction to the topic, a list of materials, pre-lab preparation information, a lab, and a student assessment. The student orientation document provides an introduction, a list of materials, images, and other visuals that highlight solar PV module performance. The standards documents explore energy literacy principles and concepts, as well as next generation high school science standards.

The video explores the relationship between temperature and open circuit voltage (Voc) through an experiment with a solar PV module. A short experiment is performed and data results are provided. The video recording runs 5:59 minutes in length.
