Taking the High Road to Building Efficiency

This presentation, provided by the Building Efficiency for a Sustainable Tomorrow (BEST) Center, is from the BEST Center's 2023 Annual Institute. This presentation is by Shreyas Jatkar, a senior advisor for Good Jobs and Workforce Development at the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy at the US Department of Energy. During the video, Jatkar talks about the need for the building efficiency industry to address the quality and accessibility of jobs in order to attract and retain a skilled and diverse workforce. While education and training are critical, they alone cannot solve workforce challenges in the building efficiency sector.  Jatkar emphasizes that it is important to address both the supply side and the demand side for workforce to develop a successful strategy in this industry.
