This presentation, provided by the Building Efficiency for a Sustainable Tomorrow (BEST) Center, is from the BEST Center's 2022 Annual Institute. During the presentation, Iain Walker, staff scientist and engineer at the Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory, discuses home decarbonization with a focus on affordability. The way towards residential decarbonization is through electrification, which depending on the project, can be expensive. Walker focuses on the different costs of decarbonization, pathways to cost compression, and the necessary cost reduction to make different types of projects more affordable. Among other topics also discussed are the benefits of residential decarbonization, such as increased safety through using electricity instead of gas, money saved overtime, and more.

This video runs 30:34 minutes in length. Additional videos from the BEST 2022 Institute are available to view separately.
