This webinar, published by the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, includes three short presentations that connect practical aspects of regenerative medicine curriculum to the training of the future biotechnology workforce, followed by a panel discussion. In the first presentation, Jim Dekloe, professor of biotechnology at Solano college, discusses the need to develop a regenerative medicine workforce to meet the growing demand in the global bioeconomy, specifically focusing on cell and gene therapy. During the second presentation, Margaret Bryans, professor of biotechnology at Montgomery County Community College, provides examples of incorporating gene therapy skills into existing courses and programs. In the final presentation, Cheryl Burrell, professor of biotechnology at Forsyth Tech Community College, walks through the steps of a lab that aims to introduce regenerative medicine into the classroom through teaching immunofluorescence, a technique that ensures generated cells are behaving correctly.
