Using Aligned Structures to View a Conformational Change in the SARS-CoV-2 Spike Protein
This video, provided by Digital World Biology, is from a series of tutorial videos for iCn3D, a web-based three-dimensional visualization and structural analysis platform for molecular structures. During the video, presenter Sandra Porter discusses using iCn3D to view structures that were aligned with the Vector Alignment Search Tool Plus (VAST+), an online tool that compares 3-dimensional structures, identifying those with similar molecular complexes. The tutorial provides instruction on:
- How to obtain structures that were aligned with VAST+.
- How to annotate the structures to identify ACE2, the spike protein subunit that contacts ACE2, and the aligned spike protein subunit from the other structure.
- How to view a conformational change by alternating between the structures.
This video runs 5:22 minutes in length. Additional videos in the series are available to view separately.
