Introduction to Python (Module 1 of 9)
This resource, provided by the GeoTech Center, is the first of nine online modules in the Python and Geospatial Mapping course. Designed for experienced users of Global Information Systems (GIS) platforms who are new to programming, this course aims to teach learners how to use Python to automate processes through the construction of short scripts in ArcGIS Pro.
This first module features an introduction to the course and its scope, accompanied by a tutorial on downloading and setting up Python. While module two offers a more in-depth introduction to Python, this chapter provides an overview of PyScripter's display and an explanation of basic logic and formatting in Python. Additionally, a 13-page PDF version of the module is provided.
Other modules in the course are available to view separately.
