This resource, provided by the GeoTech Center, is the eighth of nine online modules in the Python and Geospatial Mapping course. The course is designed for experienced users of Global Information Systems (GIS) platforms who are new to programming, with the goal of teaching them how to use Python to automate processes through the construction of short scripts in ArcGIS Pro.

This module focuses on creating scripts in the Pyscript integrated development environment (IDE) with a variety Python commands and functions from the arcpy command library included with ArcGIS Pro. The module covers functions such as the del statement, the data access module, the SearchCurser command, and more. Additionally, the module discusses creating a feature class file from outside of ArcGIS Pro and using Python to understand and move map elements. Included in the module are a video introduction to the module, nine accompanying video lessons, seven video assignments, and two video case studies.

Other modules in the course are available to view separately.
