This video case study assignment, provided by the GeoTech Center, is the second case study from module eight of the Python and Geospatial Mapping course, titled More Python. The course is designed for experienced users of Global Information Systems (GIS) platforms who are new to programming, with the goal of teaching them how to use Python to automate processes through the construction of short scripts in ArcGIS Pro.

This case study simulates an assignment from a supervisor requiring learners to create a map book with five maps. Vince DiNoto, Director of the GeoTech Center, provides additional context and the required formats for submission. Written instructions can be found in the More Python module. The map book should have maps that display the following information:

  1. A single county at the census tract level with tracts, major roads, and rivers displayed,
  2. A population map of the county at the census tract level,
  3. An income map of the county at the census tract level,
  4. An African-American population map of the county at the census tract level,
  5. A white population map of the county at the census tract level. learners are tasked with creating a map.

The video runs 2:12 minutes in length. Additional resources from the Python and Geospatial Mapping course are available to view separately.
