This resource, provided by the GeoTech Center, is the .pdf version of the first of nine online modules in the Python and Geospatial Mapping course. Designed for experienced users of Global Information Systems (GIS) platforms who are new to programming, this course aims to teach learners how to use Python to automate processes through the construction of short scripts in ArcGIS Pro.

This first module features an introduction to the course and its scope and a tutorial on downloading and setting up 64-bit Python. Additional topics covered include an overview of Integrated Development Environment (IDE) editors, navigating the PyScripter interface, and basic logic and formatting in Python.
