ITU ROV Team: Technical Report
This 25-page report, published by İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi (ITU), describes the design and construction of the underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) created by the ITU ROV Team for the Telepresence Explorer Class of the 2022 MATE ROV competition. MATE ROV is a global competition that challenges STEM students to build underwater ROVs to complete challenges. The competition is split into the following classes based on build complexity: Explorer, Ranger, Pioneer, Navigator, and Scout.
The report begins with an abstract introducing ITU ROV Team and their ROV. Following the abstract is a discussion of safety and an analysis of the construction of the team's ROV, highlighting aspects of electrical system design (ground station, power management system), mechanics (chassis, grippers, etc.), and software development (ground control station, user interface, etc.). The report also covers aspects of organization management, conclusions, references, and acknowledgements. The following appendices are included: Ground Control Station Diagram, Electrical System Integration Diagram, Vehicle Flow Diagram, Vehicle Communication Diagram, Gantt Chart, and Budget.
Manuals for each competition class and technical reports from other teams are available to view separately.
