This video, published by Columbia Gorge Community College, is the first part of a two part demonstration of an isolated electrically excited synchronous generator in the loaded condition. The demonstration will illustrate how varying the magnitude and reactive nature of an electrical load connected to a synchronous generator can influence generator's output. During the demonstration, presenter Jim Pytel covers topics such as the generator's constant speed prime mover, the system's response to various inductive loads, and its response to various capacitive loads.

This video runs 12:54 minutes in length. The second part of the lecture is available to view separately.
